Join the Energy Corps!

Are you interested in energy conservation, national service and making a difference in your community? The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) is currently accepting applications for Energy Corps AmeriCorps Member positions. Energy Corps members will be placed in host organizations in communities across Arkansas, Iowa, Montana and Pennsylvania to implement solutions for sustainable energy consumption.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals 18 and older who work well in a team environment, can relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds, have sound organizational skills, and have a strong interest in energy conservation and community development.
Energy Corps AmeriCorps members provide hands-on energy assistance, conduct energy education activities and provide community energy strategic planning and development activities to disadvantaged populations. The Energy Corps collaborates with a variety of community partnerships and entities including non-profit organizations, energy agencies, local governments and public institutions.

Energy Corps members will be eligible for a modest living allowance, an education award for college, health insurance, child care assistance and the opportunity for professional development in green-collar career pathways. Practical training opportunities will provide essential elements for good and secure jobs in the growing clean energy economy.

The Energy Corps AmeriCorps project is an initiative of NCAT in cooperation with the Corporation for National and Community Service. The project will address community energy needs by promoting sustainable energy consumption and education, fostering community sustainability and helping mitigate the effects of global climate change.
